A new fire station for the Millersville Rural Fire Protection District that was designed and built for the community of Millersville, MO, is now complete. It houses 6,589 square feet that includes three apparatus bays and features updated building systems which enable the volunteer fire fighters to better serve the community of Millersville.
The team at Dille Pollard Architecture designed a complete renovation of the former Cape Girardeau Police Station. It encompasses a total of 15,700 square feet that includes Workforce Development, the EDGE (Empowering Dads to Gain Employment) Program, Training Room, Community Development, Housing Stability offices, the Jailhouse Cafe, and repurposed jail cells utilized for private work spaces. Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri is committed to maximize resources to develop and deliver a wide range of services that improve the lives of individuals, children and families, and to build strong neighborhoods and communities.

A FEMA Safe Room for Eminence R-1 School District was recently completed. It provides a safe structure for the students of Eminence R-1 Schools in the event of a tornado. It houses 4,600 square feet and doubles as a gymnasium for the elementary students.
The new Empire Comfort Solutions facility in Poplar Bluff, Missouri is now complete. It houses 120,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 12,000 square feet of future office space producing heaters, grills, and fireplaces. A new two story glass and stone structure is the new headquarters for First Missouri State Bank in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. It is one of the first LEED accredited buildings in southeast Missouri. Great care was taken in designing the 18,000 square foot facility and grounds. Additionally, considerable attention was given to the use of specific materials, furnishings and landscaping, which adds to the stately feel of the new facility. This was a collaborative project with another architectural firm.
The new Farm Credit of Southeast Missouri in Poplar Bluff, Missouri is now complete. It serves the region while providing financial services to the agricultural community, agri-business industry and rural homeowners. The new Early Childhood Center for Poplar Bluff R-1 School District is now complete. It houses 34,000 square-feet and includes two separate wings for 3 year old and 4 year old children, each containing six classrooms. There are two extended day classrooms, a sensory room, an intensive needs room, two speech rooms, a suite for the Parents As Teachers program, two large storage areas, a nursing station, administrative offices, a centrally-located library and a multipurpose room designed with storm shelter abilities.
The Urgent Care Clinic at the John J. Pershing U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Missouri is now complete. It offers the ability to serve more veterans by providing approximately 8,500 square feet to include additional exam rooms, a decontamination area, a procedure room, women’s exam rooms and other medical areas. The facility is open 24/7.
A prototype head start school facility was designed for the Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation (DAEOC) and houses approximately 11,190 square feet. Multiple head start and early head start locations serve their early childhood communities with resources for learning in the classroom at a young age. Locations include the Missouri communities of Hayti, Senath, Kennett, Sikeston and New Madrid.
Expansions and additions are complete for the Oak Ridge R-VI School District in Oak Ridge, Missouri. The main entry was reconfigured to allow for safety and security for the students and staff. We are excited to have had the opportunity to partner with the school district to provide architectural and planning services for their Elementary classroom expansion and Vo-Ag expansion.
The new Fire Station in Charleston, Missouri houses 8,200 square feet that includes four apparatus bays. The new station features state-of-the-art building systems which enable the City of Charleston to better serve its citizens.
The new facility for Ozark Federal Credit Union is complete. Located in Dexter, Missouri, it houses 2,880 square feet to fulfill the banking needs of their customers and includes a drive through for convenience. The overall design allows for ease of circulation with a centralized open lobby concept. Additionally, customer service and loan management offices are included within the design. The mission of Ozark Federal Credit Union https://www.ozarkfcu.com/ is to provide affordable financial services to their members and their families in Southeast Missouri; to promote community development in their low-to-moderate income area; and to encourage thrift savings and the wise use of credit for the individuals and small businesses in the targeted areas.
Kidd’s Convenience Store and gas station on Broadway Boulevard in Cape Girardeau, Missouri underwent a major renovation. A new store was redesigned and built and the fueling area reconfigured in an effort to streamline the flow of traffic from the primary road that leads to the downtown area. Additionally, the drive up area was placed on the East side of the convenience store to improve the flow of customer traffic on the site. These and many other improvements will allow for ease of access for drivers and customers.
Cripple Creek Retail Development was designed to provide commercial leased spaces to potential professional, retail businesses in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The development includes six tenant spaces that houses 2,700 square feet per unit with the flexibility to add mezzanine space. Separate parking areas for employees and customers were accommodated into the overall design.
A new facility for Maynard Elementary in Maynard, Arkansas was recently completed. It houses approximately 16,000 square feet that includes six classrooms, a fine arts room, computer lab, library, multipurpose space and administration. This project was the second component of a two-phase plan that started with the new Maynard High School building. It was completed first in 2016, then followed by the Elementary school. Both buildings kept a similar architectural style and features to compliment the Maynard School District campus.

Southern Bank in Van Buren, Missouri recently completed renovations and improvements to the existing facility.
The Advance Elementary School underwent an addition and renovations which included a safety evaluation of the campus. Most recently, a FEMA Safe Room was completed for the school district.
Maynard School District, in Maynard, Arkansas, recently opened the doors to their new High School for students in grades 9-12. The fully accessible 19,574 square feet facility includes classrooms, reading room, media center, band room, and the District administrative offices. The new facility also houses the Special Education department.
DILLE POLLARD Architecture is pleased to have been part of the Design-build team for the Cape Girardeau Fire Station No. 4, located in the Laurel Grove neighborhood on Lexington Avenue in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The new fire station is 12,248 sf and contains three large apparatus bays with overhead doors on both the north and south sides of the building. Individual bedrooms, a kitchen, dining area, offices and exercise room were included in the design, as well as, a second story training area for special rescue operations.
The Bank of Grandin is a 7,400 square foot bank and a prototype for future branches. Its brick and stone exterior was designed to fit the character of the Ozarks. The upper level contains public areas for teller interaction and loan officers. The lower level includes a large community room with security systems in place so it can be used at all times of the day or week.
After conducting a facility master plan it was determined a new classroom building was needed at the main campus. The location was selected to anchor a new central pedestrian traffic way and green space created by eliminating a parking lot.

The Sterling Bank in Clayton, Missouri is a full service banking facility that was a complete renovation of an existing multi-story building in the heart of downtown Clayton. Designed to compliment the character and image of Sterling Bank facilities in Poplar Bluff and Van Buren, Missouri, innovative technologies and an outdoor courtyard have been added to attract daily casual use and many special events.

Its main feature is showcased with a multi-story circular glass atrium with decorative exterior metal panels and a revolving door.
The Sterling Bank in Chesterfield, Missouri is a full service banking facility that was a complete renovation of an existing multi-story building of approximately 37,000 square feet to incorporate a full service banking facility along with extensive landscaping design. The exterior renovation included new design features to brand the building as Sterling Bank. The interior was completely renovated to accommodate the program and functions required for a banking facility such as, a front lobby, teller area, offices, board room, etc. and finished to compliment the Sterling Bank image by use of appropriate materials, colors, and lighting.
With 3,000 spectator seats, this new 70,000 square foot gymnasium/event center serves as the new home for the basketball teams at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. It is intended to also be used for college events such as summer athletic camps, graduation, the annual Merchant’s Showcase and the Industrial Technology Fair. The attached FEMA Safe Room houses locker rooms and training spaces for all college athletics and provides a safe location for building occupants during an emergency.
The Academic Resource Commons was a complete renovation of the existing Three Rivers College Library and Nursing Building. With a new brick façade and relocated main entrance, a freshly updated image was created. The interior was renovated into a common computer area, classrooms, student support spaces, and a new vibrant library. The library services were fully accessible and operational during the entire construction process.
Phase 1 of the Three Rivers College campus in Sikeston consists of a 42,000 square foot classroom facility incorporating science labs, nursing, general education and a FEMA approved safe room.
The new South Pemiscot Junior High facility is approximately 15,000 square feet and includes six classrooms, a science lab and a library/media center. The site is conveniently located adjacent to the existing High School and Gym. The facility incorporates some of the latest building technologies with design features that balance function with aesthetics.
The new library facility is approximately 3,965 square feet and is situated on property located outside of the 100 year floodplain. A computer area, teen area and young children’s area were developed as part of the interior plan.
The new Dunklin County Public Library is 10,000 square feet and provides stack areas, work and meeting rooms, and public computer access. The traditional design blends well with the park and residential surroundings.
The Gamma Healthcare Building is a new facility that was designed and built for a medical research laboratory company. The building includes a large lab, pathology area, x-ray room, kitchen and meeting room, office suite, billing and files area and an entrance area with reception and waiting.
The Carda Medical clinic was designed and built to house four separate office suites. Each suite contains doctor’s offices, multiple exam rooms, a clerical area, entrance and waiting rooms, private restrooms, and a lounge. Covered parking is provided at each end of the building.
The Municipal Utilities building is a two-story (plus full basement) office facility with a total of 31,000 square feet. It houses administration, engineering, conference and board room, assembly space and an area for network and storage. The exterior design is brick and stone to blend with the surrounding historic downtown area.
The two-story Department of Public Safety facility includes dispatch, offices, booking, EOC training and three holding cells with 15 beds. It contains a total 38,000 square feet within the three levels. The exterior design is brick and stone to blend with the surrounding historic downtown area. The building site is part of a downtown redevelopment area that includes the Municipal Utilities and other developments.
Over 20,000 square feet of a nine classroom addition and FEMA Safe Room integration was completed for the Poplar Bluff Junior High School. ADA accessible ramps were installed in the existing facility.
The Master Plan and design was implemented for the relocation of the growing Westwood Baptist Church and School. Phase I included a 3-story building to house grades Kindergarten through 12th grade, a gymnasium, cafeteria, kitchen, locker rooms, classrooms, offices, youth area, parking and ball fields. Phase II included a lower level church office suite, foyer, choir room, main level sanctuary and upper level balcony with seating for 1,000 people.
The Poplar Bluff Housing Authority administration building serves as a local headquarters for the area’s government housing. The 11,000 square foot facility is fully equipped with security and sprinkler systems and a 100% backup generator.
The Scott City R-I School project included a complete renovation of the entrance/front of the building to create a new image and character for the school. There was also a complexity of roofing issues that led to the design of a sloped metal roof over the classroom wings. Also, a thorough renovation of the kitchen area was completed. In 2015, a FEMA Safe Room was built and designed to accommodate a theater and gallery exhibition space.
The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry is located in an historic downtown building that is in the process of renovation and is currently undergoing removal and replacement of their roof.
The Poplar Bluff Public Library has undergone a complete interior major renovation and expansion of an existing 1930’s public library building. The Children’s Library area includes space for story time assembly, a toddler’s area, a media center and a young adult room. A new curved stair is a dynamic design feature and provides direct circulation to the lower level. Recently, a new roof was installed on the majority of the building.
A new multi-purpose FEMA Safe Room was added for the existing Malden R-I school campus. The facility is approximately 8,500 square feet with space for indoor batting cages, offices, public restrooms, locker rooms and concession area adjacent to the existing stadium.
A new FEMA Safe Room was built for East Prairie R-II School District and is utilized as a gymnasium and cafeteria/kitchen. The facility is approximately 13,520 square feet.
A new FEMA Safe Room was built for Clearwater R-1 School District and is utilized as a cafeteria and kitchen. Building renovations were completed to link the FEMA Safe Room to the existing school building.
A new Kindergarten Center with 59,000 square feet includes 20 classrooms, gymnasium, and cafeteria. The facility incorporates monitored entrances and hardened corridors for student safety.
Greenville R-II School is a new 54,000 square foot elementary facility that accommodates pre-kindergarten through 6th grade. The building has a multi-purpose room that will serve as a gymnasium and cafeteria. A modern library media center and computer lab has also been provided. A FEMA Safe Room was integrated into the existing school and utilized as additional classrooms.
The new Sikeston Housing Authority building serves as the local headquarters for the area housing authority. The new building features brick veneer and was designed and constructed with new parking, sidewalks, curbs, driveways, street connections, landscaping and site lighting.
